it has constantly come to my attention that the type of animation that brought the character that we know as Oswald to life, has disappeared into history. instead of cartoonist (people), the Disney company now uses computers, and by doing so putting the cartoonist in the position of being called JOBLESS. It is truly a shame that we cant see any new hand drawn cartoons but only computerized ones. IT really makes you appreciate the beloved Oswald cartoons of the 1920s.

I kinda like to think that the fact that there's almost only computer animation now as a trend. I hope for a coexistence of both genre. I'm certainly not against computer animation: after all, the guys at Pixar are mainly using the same rules that followed the early Disney and it's part of their success, along with innovation. BUT! I can't stand that it's, against it's will, killing the 2D old-school, because producers everywhere are pushing for 3D above all.
Disney got some of the best 2D animators in the world. Right now they're working on the Princess and the frog, and boy am I wishing for the best (a good movie, and a success)...

I like handdrawn animation better. Its so easy, and all youve gotta do is have a pencil, paper. I dont want to do animation on the computer, nor do i want to do digital/computer art. Handrawn is just using a hand, while youre using a mouse on computeranimation to doodle somethin up. Have any of you seen that 'rocking oswsld' animation on youtube? It was so cool.
