as most of you probably know , a DVD of Oswald is out on the market. the DVD contains the only cartoons that Disney found. there is although a problem, what about the rest of the cartoons? I am not sure if Disney is doing EVERYTHING that they can to recover the lost cartoons of our favorite rabbit. What do you guys think?.

I'm sure they're trying to be aware of any news of a collector owning Oswald prints, but the sad fact is that most silent films today are lost. They were printed on easily damageable prints back then, and little care for preservation let them worn out. We're quite lucky to be able to see half of these. Yes, they could send archivist through the world in search of Oswald shorts in all the vaults of the world, but no one ever done that. The truth is that there's big film companies who doesn't even know what's in their own vaults. It's a great thing Disney isn't like that!
I highly doubt we'll ever see more Oswalds any time soon... My highest hope are for making new ones. I think John Lassester of Disney said something about some interest into making new stuff with Oswald. I sincerely hope so, if they accept to be a bit edgy and retro like the character.

Well, what about that other rabbit that another company had a copyright on? That's how Oswald was forgotten you know. Walt had to get rid of Oswald because somebody had a similar rabbit. I wonder if that contract has expired.....

here's the REAL truth about Oswald: Umiversal Studios stole Oswad from Disney. For all these years, the company has been struggling to get him back. In 2006, they succeeded to get him back. They now thought of a way to bring him back to fame: First through Epic Mickey, then through comics, and then...who knows... 99% TRUE!!!!!!!!!

I am not sure if Disney is doing EVERYTHING that they can to recover the lost cartoons of our favorite rabbit. What do you guys think?. If there's anything one should know about the Disney Empire, it's that they don't do anything hastily. Disney has expressed a desire to incorporate Oswald into their regular character rotation which means they will, but only once they've found an opportunistic way to promote it. I would have thought Epic Mickey would have been the springboard but it could perhaps be the rumored sequel. Oswald is having a shop opened in his name at Disneyland this year and is now on a poster in MK. There is also rumor that he could become a meet and greet character soon. I'd love to see more done in the spirit of his character on Epic Mickey. The witty anti-Mickey approach is a panic.
